Click4WAP launches mobile RSS content! Graze feed content on WAP and add to your mobile's RSS newsreader!
Some users may of noticed a new RSS feeds link appear the other night on Click4WAP. This is in beta at the moment. Users will now be able to access selected syndicated web content and browse it on their mobile phone. News organisations and website owners offering RSS feeds will have the benefit of having their content promoted to mobile users and mobile search engines through the creation of customised pages for mobile browsers.
Users can either browse or “graze” the news feeds in their WAP browser, click on the RSS icon in each page to add it to their mobile newsreader application ( if one is installed ) or add the feed manually to their desktop newsreader for the full web version.
To start things off we have feeds from the BBC News, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The New York Sun, Dallas Morning News, NPR national public radio, Christian Science Monitor, Cinema Blend, Microsoft Developer Network’s MSDN magazine and ComputerWorld. More feeds will be added all the time and features to optimise them for mobile search engines are also being built in.
As more handsets start to get shipped with pre-installed RSS newsreaders, such as some of the new Nokia models, this should be a useful way for users that have had no previous experience of RSS to find new content and be able to subscribe with a couple of button pushes.
